Learn to surf with the Institute of Froth, a Central Coast surf school for frothers of all ages and abilites.
Our kids surf sessions are safe, fun and a great way to get your kids outdoors under the care of our expert instructors. We offer one off lessons, ongoing after school surf programs and school holiday surf camps. Kids aged 5-8 must book a private one-on-one lesson as we believe our littlest groms need the undivided attention of a private instructor.
We always welcome parents to come along, take photos and cheer your kids on but if you need a break, feel free to leave your kids in our capable hands. Institute of Froth was founded by Jack Prime - AKA Mr Prime - a primary school teacher and dad himself, so we get it! We offer pick up and drop off on request.

your child's safety is our main priority that is why we run 1:6 maximum ratio of instructors to kids
all of our instructors have been trained to tailor their approach for kids
all of our instructors are Level 1 or 2 Surf Coaches accredited by Surfing Australia. They hold their SLS Bronze Medallion, First Aid Certificate and have a current Working with Children Check. All our instructors are locals with extensive experience at these beaches. They will choose the safest, best waves to surf on, on the day of your lesson.
There is no greater gift for your child than the joy of surfing from a young age. Surfing is not only a skill they can enjoy for life, but a confidence builder and a form of meditation that has been proven to have a positive impact on a child’s mental wellbeing. Surfing is good for the soul!
KIDS PRIVATE LESSON
GROM FROTH SESH - 1.5 HOURS - $130
Get your kids out of the house and into the ocean with our safe, fun and informative one-on-one Grom Froth Sesh. Our expert instructors will take them step by step through the stages of learning to surf. Lessons start on the sand and move out into safe, waist deep waves. We understand all kids learn at different paces, we are ready to support your child throughout the lesson to help them improve, from wherever they are at.
Available for kids aged 5 and older!
KIDS TWO-ON-ONE LESSON
DOUBLE THE FROTH - 1.5 HOURS - $200
Why not double the froth with our two-on-one option? Perfect for siblings or friends who want to learn how to surf together. Your surf instructor is trained to guide them both in one lesson, where they can take turns on waves and cheer each other on.
Available for kids aged 9 and over.
SCHOOL HOLIDAY SURF CAMPS
APRIL HOLIDAYS SURF CAMP - 3.5 HOURS - $90
Looking for the ultimate way to keep the kids active, outdoors, and smiling these school holidays? Our Surf Camp Days at Terrigal Beach are the perfect mix of fun, learning, and ocean time.
Each session runs for 3.5 hours (9:00am – 12:30pm) and is designed to build confidence in the surf while keeping things light, social, and full of energy. Participants will enjoy a mix of surf coaching and beach-based games, all led by our experienced and supportive instructors.
AFTER SCHOOL SURF PROGRAM
ARVO FROTH CREW - 4 X 1.5 HOUR SESSIONS - $400

For something fun to do after school, sign your kids up to our Arvo Froth Crew! These after school surf sessions run over 4 weeks from 4pm, during Term 1. We pride ourselves on offering highly personalised surf lessons and our After School Surf Programs are no different. There are 4 children maximum in each program. If there are other kids in the group, your child will only be matched with those of a similar ability. Lessons are tailored to their levels and our instructors make sure each child learns something new each week.
AFTER SCHOOL SURF PROGRAM

For something fun to do after school, sign your kids up to our Arvo Froth Crew! Our 6 weeker kids are our regulars and it’s amazing to see how far they can come in just one term. Our Arvo Froth Crew Regulars Program runs over 6 weeks (1 session per week) from 4pm each day. We pride ourselves on offering highly personalised surf lessons and our After School Surf Programs are no different. There are 4 children maximum in each program. If there are other kids in the group, your child will only be matched with those of a similar ability. Lessons are tailored to their levels and our instructors make sure each child learns something new each week.
SPIRITED FOUNDATION
YOUTH SURF SESSIONS

These one-hour private 1:1 surf lessons are exclusively for youth members of the Spirited Foundation. Each session is tailored to the individual, focusing on ocean safety, confidence-building, and progressive skill development.
